Molecular Signatures of Major Depression

Increased mitochondrial DNA & decreased telomere length found in over 11,000+ MD patients triggered via a glucocorticoid. This makes this the first time a biomarker was ever found for depression, which probably has huge clinical implications.

"Depression might in some sense be considered a metabolic reaction to perceived stress."
